Derl Linkous

Derl Linkous, age 85, left us on Sunday, October 8, 2017 on his final journey. Born in Maytown, KY on December 20, 1931 he was the son of the late Troy Linkous and the late Hazel Stamper Linkous. He retired from the Department of Weights and Measures with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture as a state inspector and spent much of his life farming. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Otis Linkous. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Linkous; daughter Diania Linkous of Mt. Sterling; and nephew Keith (Myra) Linkous and an extended family of loved ones. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Garrie Stamper will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling with Ovie Hollon, George Elkins, Jr., Bruce Adams, Zack Adams, Kaelan Hollon, and Cory Linkous serving as active pallbearers. Hearne Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
