Elnora Atkinson, age 78, widow of Malcolm Eugene Atkinson, of Stanton, KY passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born in Bowen, KY she was the daughter of the late Mose and Ollie Chester Martin. Elnora was a former employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She is survived by four sons: Melvin Eugene Atkinson, Michael Thomas (Betty) Atkinson, Mark Atkinson and Morgan Clay Atkinson all of Stanton; one sister, Estell Johnson of Winchester; three grandchildren: Beth Ann Atkinson, Taylor Michelle Atkinson and Megan Wells and three great grandchild, Sawyer Wells, Jace Wells and Lucy Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers: Lawrence Martin, Glen Wood Martin, Kenneth R. Martin and Alfred Guy Martin and by two sisters, Berniece Eades and Agnes Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stanton Cemetery with Douglas Johnson, Willie Smith, Kenneth Smith, Shannon Atkinson, Patrick William Smith and C. B. Martin serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Judy Means, Carol Smith, Anna Jean Powell, Lois Green, Sarah Goosey, Tammy Whitehead, Mary Lee Williams, Glenda Lacy, Virginia Wills, Ruby Nolan, Donald Watson, Robert Martin, Stevie Boyd, Mike Means and Donald Lykins.
