Forest Virgil "Opie" Meadows, age 57, of Clay City, KY passed away on October 25, 2016 at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Hospital. He was a former operating engineer with IOEU Local 181 and former manager of Powell's Valley Water District. He is survived by his father, Forest Edward Meadows and his wife Betty of Clay City and by his mother, Joan Rogers Meadows Wilson of Stanton; one son, Jared Clem of Clay City; four daughters: Jerri Wireman of Stanton, Ginger (Justin) Reed of Irvine, Savannah (Dester) Jeffers of Mason, OH and Katie Meadows of Clay City; one sister, Lois Meadows of Clay City; five grandchildren: Jackson Reed, Dester Jeffers IV, Wyatt Jeffers, Willow Wireman and Forest James Reed and by his special friend, H. K. Cunningham. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Kim Rose will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Meadowgreen Park Cemetery with Chad Rice, Glyn Rogers Jr., H. K. Cunningham, Gary Meadows, Warren Meadows and David Morton serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are IOEU Local 181, Eddie Harbour, Chris Elam, Ronnie Mills, Joe Carell, Tim Catlett, Mike Howse, Chad Clapper, Allen Campbell, Rob Purdon, Greg Chadwell and Bobby Dale Osborne.
