Billy Joe Bowen, age 66, passed away July 6, 2016 at his residence in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Born in Winchester, Kentucky he is the son of Claude L. Bowen and the late Lorene Fryar Bowen. He was a former factory employee of Leggett and Platt and he was a former Scout Master with the Boy Scouts. Billy Joe was a proud Kentucky Colonel. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his son, Bradley James Bowen. Billy Joe Bowen is survived by his father, Claude L. Bowen; one son, Bobby Joe Bowen and one daughter, Brittany Joyce Bowen all of Mount Sterling; one brother, Michael Clay Bowen of Jeffersonville and one sister, Claudia Burnett of Georgetown; one grandchild, Cody Bowen and one great grandchild, Elena Nicole Bowen. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Raymond Tipton will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday until time of service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
