Captolia Patton Fountain, age 94, passed away at her residence in Clarksville, Virginia on Monday, May 23, 2016. A native of Powell County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Edgar Patton and the late Allie Jane Curtis Patton. She was a former employee of Roberts Jewelry Store in Winchester, KY and the former manager of C & H Jewelry Store in Winchester Plaza, Winchester, KY. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dewitt F. VanArsdale; by her second husband, Luther G. Fountain; by two brothers: Leon Patton and Shelby Patton and by one sister, Viola Tipton. Captolia is survived by one son, Dewitt French VanArsdale of Clarksville, VA; two daughters: Elizabeth (Aaron) Cornett of Clarksville, VA and Jane VanArsdale of Florence, KY; four grandchildren: James Dewitt VanArsdale, Kelly Ann Longacre, Sarah Connor and Jason Cornett; eight great grandchildren and by her special friend and caregiver, Dotty Rice. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Marion Brewer and Bro. Gary Willoughby will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Powell's Valley Cemetery, Clay City, KY with Greg Aines, Daryl Strange, Kyle Strange, James VanArsdale, Jason Cornett and Cody Strange serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Strange, Jerry Rose, Tommy Henderson, Barry Rose and Gene Howard.
