Carolyn Sue Conley, age 66, widow of Edward Louie Conley of Stanton, Kentucky died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Clark Regional Medical Center. Born in Stanton, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Vinson Crowe and the late Reva Bellamy Crowe and she was a 1967 graduate of Powell County High School. Mrs. Conley attended Southeastern Christian College, Morehead State University and was a Headstart and Preschool teacher for 39 years in Powell County. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Powell County Homemakers, a member of the Powell County Quilting Club, a member of the Powell County Book Club and she was an active member of Our Lady Of The Mountains Catholic Church. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Darren Pennington and by her grandson, Tyler Brewer. She is survived by three daughters: Beth Pennington and Becky (Doug) Brewer of Stanton and by Jo (Bill) Luxon of Richmond; one brother, Edward Crowe of Berea; three sisters: Judy Higgason and Alicia Crabtree of Lexington and April Crowe of Stanton; six grandchildren: Baylee Brewer, Adrian (Jacob) Morton, Alyssa Pennington, Lacey Luxon, William Luxon and Landry Luxon and two great grandchildren, Graham Luxon and Brice Luxon. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Gary Willoughby with eulogy by Kaye Craft will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at Hearne Funeral Home. Mass will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, 1093 East College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Kennon Cemetery alongside her husband with Chris Hall, Adam Crabtree, Jake Morton, Matt Clark, William Luxon, Jon Conley, Elliott Hale and Corey Dimaline serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Barbara Conley, Mary Farmer, Mildred Shiffer, Sue Cunningham, Joanie Hale, Beatrice Snowden, Beverly Helvey, Devona Ledford, her beloved students and co-workers.
