Barbara Crowe Stamper, age 73, of Clay City, KY died April 1, 2016 at her residence. Born in Lexington, KY she was the daughter of the late Dillard Tandy Crowe and Emily Jane Barnett Crowe. She had attended Stanton Christian Church, was a former parking and security employee of University of Kentucky Medical Center, former dietary services employee of the V.A. Medical Center, a former toll gate attendant with the Kentucky Department of Transportation and, most importantly, a loving mother and grandmother. Barbara is survived by three sons: Randy (Anna) Stamper of Clay City, Danny (Tina) Stamper of Ashland and Douglas Stamper of Clay City; three daughters: Pamela (Benjy) Proctor of Lexington, Penny (James) King of Clay City and Robin Stamper of Lexington; one brother, Bobby Crowe of Cynthiana; two sisters: Mary Alice Gayheart of Nicholasville and Esther Miller of Garden City, MI; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Stamper, four brothers: Orville Crowe, Arthur Crowe, Dillard Crowe and Donald Crowe and by six sisters: Jean Allen, Gladys Hanks, Edith Freeman, Hazel Stokley, Marie Crowe and Anna Elizabeth Crowe. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Chris Moon will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evans Cemetery, Campton, KY with Ryan Stamper, Colt Stamper, Brian Stamper, Josh Stamper, Aaron Proctor and Kris Johnson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lorraine Fugate, Jim Benchic and the staff of Hospice East. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
