Emery C. Dunn, age 67, Campton Road, Stanton, KY passed away on March 17, 2016 at his residence. Born in Middletown, OH he was the son of the late Dock and Imogene Sallie Dunn and he was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Emery was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Powell County Sheriff Department, the Powell County Dispatch and the Middlefork Fire Department. He was a former disc jockey at WSKV and a Kentucky Colonel who loved reading western novels and working on his Ford Mustang. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Allen. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ledford Dunn; one son, Robert (Lauren) Dunn and one daughter, Amy Dunn all of Stanton; nine brothers: Larry Allen, Gary (Brenda) Allen and Ricky (Mable) Allen all of Stanton, Mason Dunn, Eugene (Gail) Dunn and Johnny Dunn all of Campton, Felix Dunn of Irvine, Michael (Ann) Dunn of Georgia and Ronald (Martha) Dunn of Paintsville; two sisters: Sharon (Larry) Redmon of Stanton and Peggy Dunn of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Gabriel Emery Whisman and Lillian Harper Dunn along with two adopted granddaughters, Felicia Ledford and Olivia Ledford. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Kendall Collins with eulogy by Allen Duncan will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery with Robert Dunn, Daniel McDaniel, Cody Allen, Mitchell Barker, Todd Redmon, Wilgus Sallie and Brian Sallie serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Charles Noss, Powell County Sheriff's Department, Powell County Ambulance Service and Shanna Charles. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
