Margaret Birkhimer Cable, age 99, widow of Joseph Cable, passed away on March 2, 2016 at Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Campton, KY. Born in Sistersville, WV she was the daughter of the late Marion and Sylvilla Eddy Birkhimer. Margaret was a member of Torrent Church of God and she was a former cook at Natural Bridge State Park. Her favorite hobby was quilting. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Joseph Cable; two grandchildren: Darrell Cable and Michael Bauer; her brother, Onward Birkhimer; two sisters: Learline McClure and Josephine Jordan and her son-in-law, John Raney. She is survived by her son, Robert Dale (Lynn) Cable of Buckhannon, WV; five daughters: Judy (Charles) Brand of Campton, Juanita Raney of Stanton, Janice (George) Schaffer of Florence, Dora (Emerson) Neff of Nebo, WV and Sandra (Ron) Lewis of Richmond; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Cable of Zachariah; 25 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and by her special friend Jeanie Shackelford of Campton. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Friday at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Funeral services officiated by Bro. James Clark and Bro. Marvin Hobbs will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Torrent Church of God. Interment will be in Bowman Cemetery at Zachariah with Michael Brand, James Lewis, Kenny Cable, Bob Cable, Gary Schaffer and Joe Schaffer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Wolfe County Nursing Center, members of Torrent Church of God, Chuck Brand and Ralph Davis. Memorial contributions may be made to Torrent Church of God.
