Cecil Drake, age 77, husband of Rachel, Morris Creek Road, Stanton, KY passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. Born in Stanton, KY he was the son of the late George Washington and Margie Marie Cheek Drake. He was 1958 graduate of Powell County High School who worked for his father at Drake Lumber Mill. He was a former machinist at Parker Seal O Ring, a retired truck driver for the State Surplus and a former tract official at the Mountain Park Dragway. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four brothers: Edgar Drake, Lee Drake, Henry Drake and Melvin Drake and by his great grandchild, Danika Leighton Charles. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Roberts Drake; two sons: Carlton Drake of Stanton and Charles "Punkin" Drake of Clay City; one daughter, Teresa (Shane) Kennon of Clay City; one brother, Charles Drake of Washington; two sisters, Martha (Gilbert) Faulkner of Stanton and Dorothy (Tony) Digioa of Virginia; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Warren Rogers and Bro. Johnny Hurt will be held a 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Drake Cemetery with Travis Crabtree, Ricky Roberts, Gary Lee Asch, Bill Drake, Larry Drake, Casey Garrigus, Daryl Faulkner and Willard Larry Drake serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are David Rice, Phil Fleming, Dallas Clark, Gale Means, Doug Roberts, Jared Kennon and Gloyd Lee. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
