Charlie Clay Garrett, age 88, of Campton Road, Stanton, KY passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Born in Bowen, KY he was the son of the late English and Rhett Ewen Garrett and he was a member of Bowen First Church of God. Charlie Clay was a farmer, a Kentucky Colonel and a former employee of Hinkle Contracting Corp and the Kentucky State Highway Department. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Faye Morton Farmer Garrett; one son, John Stephen Farmer and his wife Linda of Winchester; one daughter, Sandy Hall and her husband Jim of Stanton; four grandchildren: Christy Farmer Dailey and her husband Danny, Sarah Beth Farmer McClure and her husband Daniel, Jonathan Garrett Hall and his wife Rachel LeAnn and Rachel Ellen Hall Addison and her husband Tim; six great grandchildren: Chase Garrett Hall, Rylee McClure, Jordan McClure, Allyson Hall, Alexis Hall and Danny Dailey III; sister-in-law, Sharon Morton Neal and husband Wallace Neal; three nephews: Charles David Gibbs, Anthony Neal and his wife Diane, and Jeff Neal and his wife Mary; five nieces: Rebecca Garrett Johnson and her husband Paul, Karen Garrett Bearss and her husband John, Latna Gibbs Mellott and her husband Vince, Jennifer Kash-Miller, and Deborah Neal Watson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one son, Paul David Garrett; one daughter and son-in-law, Audrey Farmer Leigh and her husband Monty Leigh; one brother, J. P. Garrett and by three sisters: Virginia Garrett, Golden Gibbs and Venal Kash. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Steven Williams, Bro. Anthony Molihan and Jim Hall are scheduled at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Stanton Cemetery with Jonathan Hall, Tim Addison, Danny Dailey, Daniel McClure, Clayton Rogers, Bob Skidmore, Sam Hunt and Dale Anderson serving as active pallbearers. Freda Thompson, Vince Homick, Patty Homick, Rose Staton, Herb Trent, Bowen First Church of God members,Hospice East, and Amedisys are honorary pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Bowen First Church of God or Hospice East. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
