Eugene "Smokey" Knox, age 73, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Wolfe County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Campton, KY. Born in Anco, KY he was the son of the late Launa Knox and the late Mary Kelly Knox and he was a retired carpet layer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Phyllis Knox Stamper, one sister, Peggy Blevins and three brothers, Launa Knox, Jr., Rex Knox and Raymond Knox. He is survived by five children: Charlene Knox of Lexington, Raymond Knox of Stanton, Rebecca (Shane) Nolan of Clay City, John Steven (Dovie) Knox of Clay City and Amy (Clint) Claypoole of Dallas, TX; one brother, John Knox of Nicholasville; two sisters: Ann Thomas of Lexington and Pat Butcher of Titusville, FL along with nine grandchildren: Zachary Knox, Kaleb Knox, Logan Claypoole, Bailey Claypoole, Cory Nolan, Morgan Nolan, Landon Nolan, Olivia Nolan and Kolbi Nolan. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Sammy Faulkner will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY.
