Boyd D. Childers, age 76, of Clay City, KY died on May 21, 2015 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY. Born in Winchester, KY he was the son of the late Troy and Maude Chambers Childers and he was the owner of Boyd's Body Shop. He was a member of Stanton First Presbyterian Church, Right Angle Masonic Lodge and Red River Historical Society. He was a past president of Clay City Lions Club and he was active in several other civic organizations. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nettie Rowland Childers; two daughters: Sherry Childers and her husband Larry Lucas of Stanton and Vikki Meadows and her husband Michael of Clay City; one brother, Joseph Childers and his wife Jean of Largo, FL; one sister, Rosemary Fox and her husband Wilgus of Winchester; three grandchildren: Mitchell McIntyre and his wife Elisha, Michael Meadows, II and William Lucas; two great grandchildren, Titus and Micah McIntyre along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and memorial services officiated by Minister Mitchell McIntyre will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Youth Group, 420 North Main Street, Stanton, KY 40380 or Powell's Valley Baptist Church Food Ministry, 125 Powell's Valley Road, Clay City, KY 40312.
