George Willard Morton, age 85, of South Fork Road, Stanton, KY passed away on February 15, 2015 at Baptist Health Hospital, Lexington, KY. Born in Stanton, KY he was the son of the late Oscar Otis Morton and the late Myrtle McCoy Morton and he was a member of Middle Fork Church of God. He was a farmer, logger and an operator of a lumber mill. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Wireman Morton and by his daughter, Lois Ann Townsend. He is survived by his son, James (Karen) Morton of Stanton, KY; his daughter, Vicki Lynn Hunt of Stanton, KY; two brothers: Densil Clay (Betty) Morton and Daniel Dale Morton both of Stanton, KY; eight grandchildren: Amanda Wright, Cassie Allen, Crissy Barnes, Dottie Brown, Donna Vance, Robbie Townsend, Lori Berryman and Wesley Hunt and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. and funeral services officiated by Bro. Garland Lacy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Pallbearers are Robbie Townsend, Gary Berryman, Larry Lacy, Mike Barnes, James Martin, James Wade Allen and Clifford Robinson. Interment will be in Chop Chestnut Cemetery alongside his wife, Geraldine Morton. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
