Betty Lou Townsend, age 62, of Cat Creek Road, Stanton, KY passed away at her residence on December 25, 2014. Born in Winchester, KY she was the daughter of Rosie Lee Poe Trent and the late Herbert Trent. She was a former factory employee of Continental Metal Specialty and she attended Stanton Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, William Townsend, Sr. of Stanton, KY; her mother, Rosie Lee Trent of Clay City, KY; two sons, Michael Henry Vanover and Christopher Scott (Becky) Vanover of Stanton, KY; one daughter, Lisa Gail Potts of Clay City, KY; one brother, Herbert Scott (Roxanna) Trent of Jeffersonville, KY; one sister, Patty Gail (Tim Shackelford) Trent of Clay City, KY; two grandchildren, Derrick Tyler Potts and Darren Douglas Potts; one nephew, Scotty Shane Trent of Jeffersonville, KY; two nieces, Rebecca (Kevin) Shackelford of Mt. Sterling, KY and Shanna Trent of Jeffersonville, KY and special friend, Beth Riggs. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Saturday and funeral services officiated by Rev. M. C. Rice and Rev. Anthony Molihan with eulogy by Glen Oliver will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Stonegate Cemetery, 27 Stonegate Drive, Stanton, KY with Austin Bowels, Harry Lowry, James Townsend, Charles Johnson, Glen Oliver and Scotty Shane Trent serving as active pallbearers.
