Irene Rogers, age 78, died peacefully at her residence in Lexington, KY on Friday, December 19, 2014. Born in Powell County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Prince Wilburn and the late Mina Alice Friend Wilburn Tipton. She was a former employee of Good Samaritan Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Floyd Thomas Rogers; one son, Hubert Wayne Rogers; one daughter, Judith Anita Rogers; one brother, Ishmael Wilburn and by three sisters, Eula Mae Estep, Brunnie Martin and Ethel Bellamy. Surviving relatives are two sons: Thomas David (Susan) Rogers of Stanton, KY and Charles Edward Rogers of Lexington, KY; five sisters: Aileen (Richard) Centers of Winchester, OH, Violet Ann Martin and Mary Ann Tipton both of Bowen, KY, Ivory Jean Jones of Middlefork, KY and Ladonna Tharp of Quitman, TX; four grandchildren: Thomas David Rogers II, Kyle Douglas Rogers, Nathaniel Wayne Rogers and Crystal Ann Rogers; three great grandchildren: Joshua Tyler King, Kayla Dawn Rogers and Nathaniel Wayne Rogers II and one great-great grandchild, Kyndall Renaye Sue King. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Monday and funeral services officiated by Rev. Jesse Rogers will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in the Rogers Family Cemetery, Pecks Creek Road, Stanton, KY with Thomas David Rogers II, Nathaniel Rogers, Michael Martin, Timothy Martin, Tim Rogers and Derick Rogers serving as active pallbearers.
