Virginia Mae Boyd, age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Stanton Nursing Center. Born in Stanton, KY she was the daughter of the late James and Edna Combs Baker. She was a quilt maker, gardener and homemaker and she was a faithful member of Stanton First Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie Cecil Smallwood and by her second husband, Lenual Ray Boyd; one son, James Alec Smallwood; two brothers, Glenn Baker and Earl Dean Baker; one sister, Ruth Morton, one grandson, Larry Forrest Trent, Jr. and a great granddaughter, Dosha Lynn Trent. Surviving relatives are two daughters: Janice (Forrest) Trent of Stanton, KY and Ladonna (Harold) Berry of Cynthiana, KY; one brother, Roger (Betty) Baker of Stanton, KY; one sister, Betty Gentry and special niece, Glenna Gentry Blythe of Stanton, KY; a sister-in-law, Anna Marie Baker of Lexington, KY; one grand daughter-in-law, Lisa Trent of Stanton, KY; five grandchildren: Debra Trent and Cheryl (Barrett) Bromich of Chandler, AZ, Gregory (Robin) Berry of Jeffersonville, KY, Dwayne (Teresa) Berry and Kevin Berry of Cynthiana, KY; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Ave., Stanton, KY. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Anthony Molihan, Bro. Larry Mullins and Bro. Garland Lacy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Stanton First Church of God, 980 East College Ave., Stanton, KY. Visitation from Noon until time of service Monday at the church. Interment will be in Crabtree Cemetery, South Fork Road, Stanton, KY with Gregory Berry, Kevin Berry, Dwayne Berry, Josh Berry, Daniel Berry, Shade Blythe and Dakota Trent serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Sherwin Baker, Sheldon Baker, Darren Baker, Eddie Baker, Wilma Rogers, Ruby Bush, Dr. Julie Kennon, Scott Seitz and Glenna Blythe. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
