Eugene Abner, age 86, of Halls Lane, Stanton, KY passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his residence. Born in Stanton, KY he was the son of the late Tilford Abner and the late Oma Creech Abner. He was a former employee of General Motors and he was a member of Stanton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Sparks Abner; one son, Wayne Lee Abner; one daughter, Tamra (Randall) Mastin; one stepson, Jeffrey (Angie) Lane; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Elkins; one brother, J. T. (Christie) Abner; one sister, Mildred Roy and a nephew, Jay Abner all of Stanton, KY; four grandchildren: John Wayne Abner, Daniel Eugene (Kendra) Abner, Rebecca (Marvin) Berryman and Justin Mastin; six step grandchildren: Aaron Elkins, Bridgett Elkins, Stephanie Lane, Ashley Lane, Kaylee Lane and Kyle Lane; four great grandchildren: Kimbrell Abner, Tyler Mastin, Taylor Berryman and Wade Mastin and four great step grandchildren: Gracie Lane, Colton Lane, Cadence Lane and Leah Miles. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Jonathan Lewis and Bro. Anthony Molihan will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home. Interment will be in Stanton Cemetery with Jeff Lane, Jay Abner, Aaron Elkins, Greg Browning, Jason Rogers, Chris Rogers and Gary Abner serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Karl Adams, Damon Adams, Steve Abner, Billy Abner, Darryl Abner and Rick Abner. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
