Patrick Ray Duff, age 82, husband of Evangeline Maupin Duff, Forge Mill Road, Clay City, KY passed away at his residence on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. He was born in Harvey, KY to the late George L. and Ruth Ledford Duff. Ray graduated from Powell County High School in 1949 and he was a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, OH where he earned a degree in finance. Duff opened Continental Metals in Powell County and he and his wife constructed the Powell Prescription building and the Red River Clinic building in Clay City, KY. Ray Duff was owner of Winchester Coating Inc. and he was a member of Clay City United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Duff; two sisters, Norma Gail Rose and Monella Fugate and by his grandson, Patrick Shaw. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evangeline Maupin Duff; one daughter, Connie and her husband John Mills of Winchester, KY; one brother, Donald Lee and his wife Peggy Duff of Stanton, KY; four sisters, Betty Faye Spencer, Stanton, KY, Carolyn and her husband Douglas Finch, Lexington, KY, Marcella and her husband Harold Hopper, Fort Wayne, IN and Joyce Erickson, Garner, NC; four grandchildren, Kortney (David) Shearer, Meagan (Chad) Lawson, Coe St. John and Jonathan Mills and by three great grandchildren, Brennon Meadows, Christian Williams and Landon Lawson. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 and funeral services officiated by Rev. Kim Rose will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in the Clay City-Eaton Cemetery with Brennon Meadows, Christian Williams, Darryl Ashley, John Mills, Jonathan Mills and Coe St. John serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Hopper, Doug Finch, Ray Fugate, Jerlene and Billy Rose, Alan Maupin, Pandora Maupin, Ashley Kirk, Phyllis Rose, Millard Skidmore, Pete Shaw and Jim Halsey.
