Earnest D. Rogers, age 72, of Smallwood Road, Stanton, KY passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Born in Powell County, KY he was the son of the late Jasper Newton Rogers and the late Irene Foster Rogers. He was a former welder with Hamilton Steel and he attended Means Miracle Community Church in Means, KY. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jean Rogers and his brother, John Rogers. He is survived by two sons, Brian Keith Rogers and his wife Jessica of Stanton, KY and Sgt. Ernest Jason Rogers and his wife Stacy of Fort Campbell, KY; three daughters, Beverly Rogers, Bonnie Rogers and Sharon Ray and her husband David all of Stanton, KY; one brother, Melvin Rogers and his wife Cathy of Stanton, KY; one sister Lois Clark of West Liberty, KY; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchild. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 and funeral services officiated by Brother Franklin Hall and Brother Ed Farmer will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Stonegate Cemetery, 27 Stonegate Drive, Stanton, KY with Sgt. Ernest J. Rogers, Brian Rogers, Nicholas Mayberry, Erik Boyd, Josh Mayberry, David Ray, Earl Dickey and Lonnie Dale Stewart serving as active pallbearers.
