Carl Stanley Ballard, age 67, Black Creek Road, Clay City, Kentucky passed away on July 28, 2014 at his residence. Born in Clark County, Kentucky he was the son of the late Harvey F. and Deena Bond Ballard. He was a U S Army Veteran and a member of the Clay City Baptist Church. He was a retired construction employee with Local Construction Union No. 189. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, William Harvey Ballard; his sister, Anna Frances Ballard Howard; his half-brother, Delbert Ballard and by his half-sisters, Lillie Mae Ballard Houston and Ruth Ballard Bryant. He is survived by his son, Carl (Angela) Ballard Jr. of Clay City, Kentucky; three daughters: Tina Ballard and Stephanie (Tommy) Lockhart of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Leandrea Ballard of Winchester, Kentucky; stepson, Bobby Watkins of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; three stepdaughters: Rebecca (Mike) Harris of Clay City, Kentucky, Tresa Watkins and Donna Watkins of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one brother, Everett Ballard of Clay City, Kentucky; one sister, Pauline Lane of Stanton, Kentucky; one half-brother, Benny Foley of Riverview, Michigan; six grandchildren: Hannah Ballard, Karlee Ballard, Ryan Watkins, Nathaniel Ballard, Austin Ballard and Thomas Lockhart; seven step-grandchildren; special friend and mother of his children, Irene Hale along with special friends, Judy Bush, Shonda Bush, Terry and Gail Strange, Charlie and Lisa Ramos, Char Tipton and many others. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday and funeral services officiated by Rev. Grider Denney and John Combs will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Interment with military honors will be in the Donnie G. Randall Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Stanton, Kentucky. Active pallbearers are Michael Harris, Terry Strange, Michael Weldi, Dale Hall, Glenn McKinney and Roland Marcum.
