Doris Gene "Dixie" Strange, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Stanton Nursing Center in Stanton, KY. Born in Powell County, KY he was the son of the late Leonard and Margaret Townsend Strange and he was a lifelong farmer. He is survived by one son, Michael Strange of Clay City, KY; two daughters: Patty (Patrick) Overbee and Tina Strange of Stanton, KY; two brothers: Jerry Strange and Truman (Cutus) Strange of Clay City, KY; four sisters: Judy (Stanley) Combs of Jeffersonville, KY, Janice Centers and Helen (Melvin) Brewer of Clay City, KY and Louise Hobbs of Stanton, KY and by one grandchild, Jessica Overbee. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Anthony Molihan will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. on Friday and continues until the time of his funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Elkins Cemetery, Clay City, KY with Chris Strange, David Strange, Stevie Brewer, Kiowa Muncie and Jason Strange serving as pallbearers.
