John C. Stamper, age 76, of Tammy Lane, Clay City, KY passed away on Dec. 23, 2013 at his residence. Born in Campton, KY he was the son of the late Reece and Esther Lovelace Stamper. He was a former employee of Foster and Creighton Construction Company and he attended Stanton Christian Church. He is survived by three sons: Randy (Anna) Stamper and Douglas Stamper both of Clay City, KY and Danny (Tina) Stamper of Ashland, KY; three daughters: Pam (Benjy) Proctor and Robin Stamper both of Lexington, KY and Penny (James) King of Jenkins, KY; one brother, Shelby Stamper of Dayton, OH; two sisters: Mary Glover of Texas and Jenny Lindon of Lexington, KY; his former wife Barbara Crowe (Stamper); 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday and funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in the Evans Cemetery, Campton, KY with Benjy Proctor, Steve Everman, Scott Johnson, Mark Meadows, Tony Morton, Mike Justice and Larry Lyle serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Talmadge Crabtree, James Benchic and Denny Tipton. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
