Ruth Bell Duff, age 101, of Campton Road, Stanton, KY died on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY. Born in Pine Ridge, KY she was the daughter of the late William H. and Emma Lawson Ledford and she was a member of Middlefork Church of God where she was song leader and taught Sunday School. Ruth was a homemaker, gardener, quilt maker and devoted mother and wife of 60 years to the late George L. Duff. She was also preceded in death by three children: Norma Gail Rose, Roger Duff and Monella Fugate. She is survived by two sons: Patrick Ray (Evangeline) Duff, Clay City, KY and Donald Lee (Peggy) Duff, Stanton, KY; four daughters: Marcella (Harold) Hopper, Logansport, IN, Betty Faye Spencer, Stanton, KY, Carolyn (Douglas) Finch, Lexington, KY and Joyce Erickson, Garner, NC; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. It is impossible to grasp all the changes Ruth Duff saw during her century-plus-long life, however the best part is that she remained the same humble, hardworking person. She lived for the Lord and was appreciative of the many blessings in her life. Visitation starts at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2013 and her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Ave., Stanton, KY. The funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Kim Rose and Rev. Anthony Molihan. Interment will follow in the Clay City - Eaton Cemetery with Michael Fugate, Darryl Ashley, Anthony Duff, Donald Merle Gentry, John Mills and Austin Stevenson serving as active pallbearers.
