Norma Elaine Powell, age 60, of Childers Road, Clay City, KY passed away at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, KY on Monday, November 25, 2013. Born in Madison Heights, MI she was the daughter of the late Elroy and Chrystal Martin Knox. She was a licensed evangelist and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved writing songs and poetry, singing and preaching the gospel of Christ. She is survived by one son, Gregory Warren Kiser of Frankfort, KY; one daughter, Brandy Elaine Shanks of Pikeville, KY; three brothers: Larry and his wife Wanda Lacy of Stanton, KY, Linvelle and his wife Carol Knox of Stanton, and Jeffrey and his wife Natasha Knox of Clay City, KY; one sister, Karen and her husband Jimmy Morton of Stanton, KY and by three grandchildren: Justin Gregory Kiser, Evan Chandler Kiser and Preston Tyler Tackett. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday and funeral services officiated by Bro. Johnny Hurt and Bro. Ernie Dudleson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in the Knox-Lacy Cemetery, Stanton, KY with Jeff Knox, Ken Fugate, Bro. James Krescholek, Bro. Sammy Patrick, James Wade Allen and Linvelle Knox serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Bro. Johnny Hurt, Bro. Ernie Dudleson, Ruthette Durbin, Bonnie Daugherty, Rachel Harney, Stephen Day, Bro. J. D. and Laverne Robinson. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
