Charles Powell, age 62, of Shuler Road, Clay City, KY passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Born in Clay City, KY he was the son of the late Owen and Hazel Todd Powell and he was a heavy equipment operator with Operators Union 181. He was a music lover and musician. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Bob Powell and by two sisters, Evelyn Snowden and Dorothy Moore. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wright Powell; three sons: Charles Owen "Chuck" and his wife Lottie "Tiny" Powell, Lloyd Wayne and his wife Jaime Powell and Joshua Lee Powell all of Clay City, KY; one brother, Walter Powell of Clay City, KY; five sisters: Carla and her husband Junior Brake and Ethel and her husband Bill Watkins both of Ohio, Betty Centers of Florida, Sue Miller and Shelby and her husband Junior Osborne both of Clay City, KY and five grandchildren: Mason Storm Powell, Colton Nicholas Powell, Sydney Ellen Powell, Shelby D. Warner and Lindsay Parks. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. and funeral services officiated by Rev. M. C. Rice will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation will continue following his funeral service until 9:00 P.M.
