Dorothy Sue Newell, age 71, wife of Luke Newell of Black Creek Road, Clay City, KY passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at her residence. Born in Morehead, KY she was the daughter of the late Luther and Nancy Click Conley. She was a homemaker and member of Bowen Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Luke Newell; six sons: David and his wife Pam Newell of Viper, KY, Thomas and his wife Donna Newell of Clay City, KY, Daniel and his wife Daisy Newell of Mt. Sterling, KY, Mark and his wife Bobbie Newell of Clay City, KY, Jesse and his wife Geneva Newell of Pikeville, KY and Luke Newell, Jr. and his wife Emma of Carlisle, KY; one daughter, Michelle and her husband Estil Varney of Clay City, KY; three sisters: Ina Bowling of Indiana, Alice and her husband Willie Hamm of Soldier, KY and Nellie Patrick of Owingsville, KY; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday and funeral services officiated by Bro. Mack Rice will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at Clay City Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Newell Cemetery, Clay City, KY with her sons serving as active pallbearers and Estil Varney will be an honorary pallbearer. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
