Donald Hale, age 79, of Pamela Drive, Stanton, KY passed away on August 31, 2013 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Fixer, Lee County, KY he was the son of the late Ed and Nannie Ledford Hale. Donald Hale was a former minister of Slade Church of God and Middlefork Church of God. He was a retired building contractor having built over 300 homes in Powell and surrounding counties. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Eddie Hale, his grandson, Dustin Hale and his great grandson, Landon Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Burton Hale; two sons: Steve (Joanie) Hale of Clay City, KY and Wesley (Sherrie) Hale of Stanton, KY; two daughters: Bonnie (Jerry) Ledford and Janet Carroll both of Stanton, KY; one stepdaughter, Andi Farthing of Stanton, KY; 11 grandchildren: Nicholas Hale, Sally (Steven) Risner, Elliott Hale, Montana Hale, Jessica (Derrick) Taylor, Josh (Kayla) Carroll, Colin Hale, Kyle Hale, McKinley Hale, Kalei Farthing and Kelsey Farthing along with six great grandchildren: Alyssa and Hadlee Taylor and Madilee and Kelsie Risner, Alison and Ty Defilipo. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Larry Mullins and Rev. Ted Linkous will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue in Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery with Nick Hale, Josh Carroll, Elliott Hale, Colin Hale, Eric Shipley, Arnold Ledford, Ray Watson and John Baker serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Walls, Eugene Reed, Gary Reed, Mike Roberts, Bernard Ewen, Willie Profitt, Odean Tipton, Billy Seale, Ruth Duff, Betty Faye Spencer and the staff of Stanton Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Powells Valley Baptist Church Food Bank. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
