Juanita Faye Whitehurst, age 70, of Primrose Way, Mt. Sterling, KY passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Born in Hart, MI she was the daughter of Marie Nienhuis Creed Gilbert and the late Dan Creed. She was a former nurse and an avid facebook user and Nascar enthusiast. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Dale Creed and Ronnie Creed. Surviving relatives include her mother, Marie Gilbert and her stepfather, Christy Gilbert of Stanton, KY; two children: Kimberly N. Noel (Chris Smith) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Michael Whitehurst of Stanton, KY; four sisters: Maryann Nelson of Clay City, KY, Betty Sparks of Lexington, KY, Linda (Todd) Mason of Richmond, KY and Michelle (Jesse) Huber of Summersville, KY; one stepsister, Deloris (Ray) Townsend of Bowen, KY; a sister-in-law, Irene Creed of Stanton, KY; four grandchildren: Whittney (Michael) Tuttle of Mt. Sterling, KY, Will Lykins of Jackson, KY, Keagan Whitehurst of Stanton, KY and Dalton Whitehurst of Clay City, KY and one great grandchild, Landon Tuttle of Mt. Sterling, KY. Funeral services officiated by Rev. M. C. Rice will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation is from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Stonegate Cemetery, 27 Stonegate Drive, Stanton, KY with Michael Whitehurst, Chris Smith, Cody Knox, James Kirk, Will Lykins and Brian Brooks serving as active pallbearers.
