Viola Pelfrey, age 81, of Stanton, Kentucky passed away on July 8, 2013 at Saint Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital. Born in Powell County, KY she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Anna Bellamy Pelfrey and she was a retired employee of Stanton Dry Cleaners. She attended the Lighthouse Church of God and she was a dedicated donor to WLJC. Viola was a devoted daughter to her mother, a loving mother to her children and proud grandmother of her grandchildren. Surviving relatives include her son, Greg (Dottie) Pelfrey; two daughters: Anna (Randy) Stamper and Sheila (Gary) Christopher and one brother, Sterlin O. Pelfrey all of Clay City, KY; two sisters: Golda Derickson of Stanton, KY and Ada Abney of Hallsville, TX; three grandchildren: Greg Pelfrey, Joseph Devon Pelfrey and Lucas Christopher; one great granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Pelfrey and two special friends, Thelma Snowden and Donna Martin. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and funeral services officiated by Rev. David Ryan Dotson and Greg Pelfrey will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in the Miller Cemetery, Cane Creek Road, Stanton, KY with Greg Pelfrey, Devon Pelfrey, Brian Derickson, Bradley Derickson, Mark Elam and Lucas Christopher serving as pallbearers.
