Alberta "Birdie" Meeks, age 51, wife of Rex Meeks, of Sim Long Road, Frenchburg, KY passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was the daughter of Lottie Rose Spencer Pugh and the late Albert Hall, Jr. She was a homemaker, attended the Church of the Living God in Jeffersonville, Kentucky and was a volunteer worker at the Campton Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the mother of Carlos (Lisa) Hall, Carmela Baber, Matthew W. (Audrey) Brown, Joshua C. Brown, Daniel F. (Elizabeth) Brown, Monty C. Brown, David Lee Meeks, Andrew C. Meeks, Tabatha R. Meeks, Kalap S. Meeks, Jacob Meeks and the step mother of Rex Dean Meeks, Allen Michael Meeks and Amber Marie Brown. She is also survived by two brothers: Charles Hall and Joe Wesley Pugh by five sisters: Betty Townsend, Bernice Phelps, Catherine Hall, Irene Strange and Shirley Catron and by a host of grandchildren. In addition to her father she is also preceded in death by six brothers: Vince Hall, Vernon Hall, Oliver Hall, Ricky Pugh, Chester Hall and Oscar Hall. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 and funeral services officiated by Brother Lonnie Meeks and Brian Hampton will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue in Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Clay City-Eaton Cemetery with Elijah Anderson, Jon McClure, Christopher Bishop, Stephen Conkright, Tyler Davis, and J.D. McClure serving as active pallbearers.
