James Conner, Jr. 79, widower of Jo Ann Strange Conner, of 535 Emerson Drive, Lexington, KY died March 27, 2013 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville, KY. Born in Lexington, KY he was the son of the late James E. Conner, Sr. and Elveree Fitzpatrick Conner. He was a Navy veteran and a former maintenance employee of the Lexington Housing Authority. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Conner and Frank Connor. He is survived by his son, Gregory (Tammy) Conner of Clay City, KY, one brother, Joe Conner of Jacksonville, NC; one sister, Patsy (Leonard) Plyman of Nicholasville, KY; five grandchildren: Christie (Chad) Poe, Lindsay (Brad) Rose, Shane Conner, Amanda (Tyler) White and Jacob Conner and by five great grandchildren: Donovan Poe, Daniel Poe, Carter Poe, Breanna Rose and Zoey White. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Graveside service officiated by Rev. Garland Lacy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Stanton Cemetery. Pallbearers are Shane Conner, Jacob Conner, Chad Poe, Brad Rose, Tyler White, Donovan Poe and Daniel Poe.
