Mellie Ritchie Teasley, age 93, widow of Claude Teasley, of Black Creek Road, Clay City, KY passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Born in Breathitt County, KY she was the daughter of the late George and Zelda Gibbs Ritchie. She was a former nurses aid at Clark County Hospital and a member of the West Bend First Church of God. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Ray Teasley and by her grandson, Greg Teasley. Surviving relatives are her daughter-in-law, Sue Teasley (Jerry) Wells and two grandsons, Kenneth Teasley and Michael (Valerie) Teasley all of Clay City, KY; one granddaughter, Sherry Teasley DeSimone of Hilton Head, SC; granddaughter-in-law, Kim Teasley; nine great grandchildren: Christopher Teasley, Jon Teasley, Cole Teasley, Holly Teasley, Joshua Teasley, Savannah Weddington, Devean Teasley, Leslie White and Carly DeSimone; one great-great grandchild, Jaxon Weddington along with her caregivers, Gwen Teasley, Margaret Brakefield and Lisa Woods. Funeral services officiated by Rev. James Harold Combs and Rev. Anthony Molihan will be held at noon on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Clay City-Eaton Cemetery with Kenneth Teasley, Michael Teasley, Jon Teasley, Cole Teasley, Joshua Teasley, Devean Teasley and Christopher Teasley serving as pallbearers.
