Ambrose Ray Curtis, age 74, of Winchester, Kentucky died at his winter home in Valrico, Florida on February 19, 2013. Born in Clay City, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Raymond and Pearl Barnett Curtis. Ambrose Curtis was a partner in the former B & C Wholesale and a former member of the Stanton Housing Authority Board, the Powell County Jaycees and the Powell County Lions Club. He was a member and former deacon of the Stanton Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Curtis and by his sister, Phyllis Curtis Rose. Surviving relatives are his wife of 55 years, Barbara Myers Curtis; one son, Douglas Curtis of Winchester, KY; one daughter, Ambara Caudill and her husband Jamie of Stanton, KY; one brother, Obert Glynn Curtis and his wife Betty of Winchester, KY; one sister, Jessie Minnish of Kettering, OH; three grandchildren: Amy Estepp and her husband David of London, KY, Craig Pasley and his wife Jessica of Winchester, KY and Brittany Curtis of Miami, FL along with three great grandchildren: Dawson Estepp, Kayley Estepp and Brody Pasley. Funeral services officiated by his lifelong friend Rev. Wayne Everman and Bro. Lee Cruse will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Hearne Funeral Home, Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation will be from 4:00 til 8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Stanton Cemetery with Douglas Curtis, David Estepp, Jamie Caudill, Craig Pasley, Brody Pasley and Dawson Estepp serving as pallbearers.
