Sandra Jo Courtney Abney, age 48, passed away at her residence on Stone Road, Clay City, KY on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Born in Winchester, KY she was the daughter of Wayne K. Courtney and Tennie Lois Willoughby Courtney. She was a former employee of CMS and Stantek and she followed the United Mountain Horseshow Circuit. Surviving relatives are her parents, Wayne and Lois Courtney; one son, Josh Abney; one daughter, Samantha (Jace Miller) Abney and one grandson, Braylon Miller all of Clay City, KY; three sisters: Karen (Tim) Hatton and Michelle (Randall) Young both of Clay City, KY and Monica (Jimmy) Miller of Irvine, KY along with special nephews, Dwayne Hatton and Wesley Miller; special niece, Courtney Miller and several cousins. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Mike Davis with eulogy by Jimmy Miller, poem by H. T. Derickson and prayer by Roy Courtney will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home Chapel, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Courtney Family Cemetery on Stone Road, Clay City, KY with Randall Young, Tim Hatton, Dwayne Hatton, Wesley Miller, Jace Miller, Chase Tipton, S. T. Tipton and Michael Bowen serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Euell and Ann Sumner, Bobby and Doris Courtney, H. T. and Wilda Derickson, Chris Tipton, Derrick Tipton, Terry Lawson, Millie Rogers, Wanda Myers, Jeannie Anne Williams, Franklin Johnson, Tonya Puckett, Matt Strange and all of her cousins.
