Cecil Banks Davis, age 78, of Main Street, Clay City, KY died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY. Born in Clay City, KY he was the son of the late William Davis, Sr. and Madge Tipton Davis. He was retired from Rockwell International and he was a deacon in the Clay City Baptist Church. Cecil Davis had served as a city councilman and was a former Mayor of Clay City for 17 years. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Cecil B. Davis, Jr., one granddaughter, Linda Michelle Davis and by his brother, William, Davis, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Elois Childers Davis; two sons, William J. (wife, Linda) Davis and Darrell (wife, Patty) Davis all of Clay City, KY; seven grandchildren: Joshua Davis, Brooke Davis Tipton, Faron Davis, Jessica Davis, Hannah Davis, Brian Davis and Morgan Davis; three great grandchildren and by three sisters: Exie (husband, Al) Minton and Pauline (husband, Fred) Tuttle both of Lexington, KY and Beverley (husband, Damon) Bowen of Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Saturday and funeral services officiated by Rev. Grider Denney will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will be in Vaughns Mill Cemetery with Faron Davis, Joshua Davis, Rick Jones, Phillip Davis, Ricky Bellamy and Shane Davis serving as pallbearers.
