Marjorie Edell Mastin, age 93, of Main Street, Clay City, KY passed away on September 20, 2012 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, KY. Born in Estill County, KY she was the daughter of the late Vernon V. and Leona Wise Neal. Marjorie Mastin was a retired teacher who had taught the first grade at Clay City Elementary for 31 years. She was a proud member of Clay City United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Gross; by her second husband, Cecil Mastin; by her child, Haroldean Gross and by her grandchild, C. W. Fortney. Surviving relatives are two daughters: Lorna and her husband David Baker of Stanton, KY and Andrea and her husband Wayne Fortney of Clay City, KY; two granddaughters: Delisa and her husband Lloyd Cooper of Stanton, KY and Candrea and her husband John Mers of Fort Lauderdale, FL; six great grandchildren: Matthew Keegan and Ian Niko Stokley, Darian Zayne and Dakylan Quinn Costello, Dakara Jade Cooper, Calvin Fortney and his mother, Sarah Centimole; two brothers in law: Gene Gross and Paul and his wife Christina Mastin; four sisters in law: Mildred Silva, Monda Martin, Sue Mastin and Eleanor Weiffenbach along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Sunday and funeral services officiated by Rev. Kim Rose with eulogy by Kenny Faulkner will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home Chapel, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will follow in the Clark Cemetery with Lloyd Cooper, John Mers, Matthew Keegan Stokley, Ian Niko Stokley, Darian Zayne Costello and Dakylan Quinn Costello serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are all former students and retired teachers of the Powell County School System, Kenny Faulkner, Eva Mae White, Lonnie Dale Stewart, Ruby and Robert Rice, Bonnie Feathers, Rhonda Barnett, Charlotte Pelfrey, Renee Brashear, Margie Knox, Maude Townsend, Mary Kennon, Willie Brewer, Glenda Birch, Vina Bennett, Butch and Betty Bloom, C.
