Aaron Hughes

Aaron Dean Hughes, age 78, of Clay City, KY, husband of the late Phyllis Lawson Hughes, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home. Born in Perry County, Kentucky on April 26, 1944, he was the son of the late Ceasar Hollon and the late Viola Hollon. He was a loving and caring father who was always hospitable to his family and friends. He loved bluegrass music and was a very hard worker. In addition to his parents and his wife, Aaron was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Mason Dean Pence; two brothers: Gay Allen and Gary Hughes; one sister, Barbara Hollon; two sisters-in-law: Betty Allen and Esther Hughes; one nephew, Nathen Allen and two nieces: Annette Hollon and Sarah Jane Hollon. He is survived by one son, Jeff (Shirlene) Hughes of Clay City; one daughter, Lisa (Norman) Perry of Winchester; six grandchildren: Aaron Perry, Devin Hughes, Shawn (Shanae) Webster, Brandon (Dakota) Perry, Brittany (Kody) Richmond and Jessica (Dustin) Pence; ten great-grandchildren: Braxton Pence, McKenna Pence, Teagan Richmond, Adalee Richmond, Raven Richmond, Rhyder Perry, Evelyn Perry, Jasamine Strange, Bryson Strange and Abby Webster; and three brothers: Mark Hollon of Ohio; Matthew Hollon of Harlan, KY and Shelby Hughes of Dayton, OH. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Bill Henderson will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Stonegate Cemetery with Chester Lawson, Chad Lawson, Dustin Pence, Brandon Perry, Shawn Webster and Aaron Perry serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home, Inc. of Stanton.
