Betty Ann Tipton Wickline, age 74, widow of Austin Keith Wickline, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her home in Stanton, Kentucky. She was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on August 15, 1950, to the late Harold “Chubby” Tipton and the late Hazel Horn Tipton. Betty cherished her late husband with whom she was married for forty-nine years, her family, and her friends deeply. She was known for being fun-loving, kind, and stubborn, and for being a good friend. Betty was truly passionate about a variety of activities. She found joy in nurturing her flower garden, observing the delicate and graceful hummingbirds, creating beautiful crochet and embroidery pieces, and listening to the timeless tunes of Elvis. Betty cherished moments spent sitting on the porch, taking in the simple pleasures of life and relishing the tranquil surroundings. She also loved visiting the beach, finding solace in the rhythmic sounds of the waves and the endless expanse of the ocean. Furthermore, Betty adored spending quality time with her grandchildren and enthusiastically attending baseball games and athletic events to cheer them on. She was a member of Cat Creek Church of Christ and was a 1968 graduate of Powell County High School. Throughout the years, Betty worked as a family pathway specialist and bus driver with Kentucky River Foothills Head Start Program. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers: Lloyd Clay “Chubby” Tipton, Daniel “Goat” Tipton, and James B. “Jimmy” Tipton; one sister, Malissa Tipton, and her best friend: Arlene Elam. Betty is survived by two sons: Justin Wickline of Lexington, and Montlee Wickline of Jeffersonville; one daughter: Angie (Kris Young) Mullins of Stanton; one brother: Robert Tipton of Stanton; two sisters: Barbara Tipton Lane of Stanton, and Tena McIntosh of Georgetown, OH; nine grandchildren: Austin Nicholas (Olivia) Mullins, Kailee (Tommy) Guier, Hailee Mullins, Kairi Wickline, Maya Wickline, Kaden Wickline, Gabriel Wickline, Brennan (Mishayla) Young, and Devin Young; one great-grandchild: Elias Elliott Young; and lastly her beloved dog, Wickie and her beloved cat, Pussell. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Robert Rice will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, September 9, 2024. Burial will be held at Wickline Cemetery in Bowen with Austin Mullins, Kris Young, Tommy Guier, Blake Tipton, Boone Bailey, Kaden Wickline, and Gabriel Wickline serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Carla Smith, Brenda Hood, Dottie Pelfrey, Devina Campbell, Phyllis Hobbs, Devin Young, Cindy Hale, Cecil Tipton, Brennan Young, Michelle Watkins, Linda Ratliff, Gary Crowe, Chan Congleton, Leevi Congleton, Foy Whitaker, Hospice East and especially Carrie Tiller and Tiffany Faulkner. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
