Bill Hall, Jr., age 81, husband of Veronica Layne Hall, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at East Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was born in Hall, Kentucky, on June 22, 1943, to the late Bill Hall, Sr. and the late Sarah Jane Holbrook Hall. Bill was a devoted family man who treasured every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He found solace in the great outdoors, spending his time fishing and hunting. With a wonderful sense of humor, Bill brightened the lives of those around him with his jokes and lively spirit. A diligent worker, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a participant in the Vietnam War, Bill was also an active member of DAV and the American Legion. He graduated from Wayland High School in 1962 and worked as a factory worker at Marion Power Shovel. Bill was deeply spiritual, finding fulfillment in attending Jeffersonville Baptist Church, while in Knott County he not only engaged in Bible study but also shared his knowledge by teaching the adult Sunday School class at the Topmost Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Cleveland Hall, Estill Hall, Lloyd Hall, and Evin Hall; three sisters: Estie Williams, Ruth Belford, and Joan Peacher; and one great-grandchild, Adalynn Patton. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by one son, Gregory Scott (Beverly) Hall of Oakland, Mississippi; one daughter Gina Renee (Mark) Faulkner of Marion, Ohio; one step-daughter Rebecca Renee (David) Lester of Jeffersonville; four sisters: Ethel (Tollie) Gamble, and Jean Seiter both of Marion, Ohio, Mary Ann (Joe) Romeo of South Carolina, and Mona Knight of Alexandria, Virginia; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Linville Spangler will be held at the funeral home immediately following at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Stonegate Cemetery in Stanton with Greg Hall, Mark Faulkner, Brandon Rutter, and Mike Seiter serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
