Robert Bruce Crowe, age 65, husband of Vanessa Derickson Crowe passed away at his residence in Stanton on Saturday, January 28, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.  Born in Winchester, he was the son of the late Charles Eunice Crowe and the late Lucy Anne Atkinson Crowe and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Stanton.  Bruce was a former substation contractor with East Kentucky Power and was the promotional director and contractor for the United Mountain Horse Association facility.  He was a great artist and painter and enjoyed writing and making poetry. Bruce loved to listen to music and to write it as well. He had the joy of sharing this passion with his children, Rachel and Landers in their individual music careers.  In addition to his wife Bruce was survived by his children, Rachel Wilcy Crowe and Landers (Leslie) Crowe of Stanton; three sisters: Angelyn Maloney of Clay City, Joanne Crowe of Stanton and Mariam (Paul) Todd of Clay City and by his three grandchildren: Adrian Crowe, Blaze Crowe and Dakota Lucy Crowe.  Funeral services officiated by Troy Brooks will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky.  Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. on Monday as well at the funeral home.  Private burial will follow the service in Williams Cemetery with Chris Tipton, Derick Tipton, Stanley Tipton, Kolby Tipton, Jackson Tipton and Kelly Maloney serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Lay, Randy Boyd, Stacy Stidham, Shannon Stidham, David Goodwin, Kenny Meredith, Jonathan New, Tim Huff and David Stringer. Memorial contributions may be made to Dessie Scott Children’s Home at https://buckhorn.org/donate-gift/ways-to-give/. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
