Debra Lynn Hawkins, age 73, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at her home in Clay City, Kentucky. She was born in Winchester, on July 7, 1950, to the late William and the late Gloria Jean Hylton Young. Debra was a member of the Winchester Community Church, and retired from Wal-Mart, where she worked as a Customer Service Manager. She was passionate about her family and loved to spend time with them. Debra was a very loving, selfless individual with a great sense of humor. She liked to go fishing when time allowed; loved to sing and always looked forward to vacations to Tennessee. In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Ocie Hawkins, Jr.; father, Henry Clay Burton, Jr.; one daughter, Tina Beasley; and one sister, Lana Kaye Hawkins. She is survived by three daughters: Sadie Hawkins, Maylyn (James) Griffett, and Shannon Hooten all of Clay City; four brothers: Bobby (Betty) Young of Irvine, Timmy Burton of Lexington, Greg Burton of Nicholasville and Scott (Christy) Burton of Lexington; two sisters: Elizabeth (Dwight) Whisman of Winchester and Julie (Sam) Gay of Lexington; one son in law, Timmie Beasley; 11 grandchildren: Bailey Perez, Lillian Perez, Lynnsay (Lonnie Cooper) Griffett, Samantha (Kris) Ensey, J.D. Griffett, Marcus (Chelsea) Hawkins, Thannon Hawkins, Zachary Hooten, Ocie Parido, Christian Parido and Jeremie (Marah Hollon) Beasley; and 10 great-grandchildren: Layken Griffett, Karter Griffett, Aiden Hawkins, Raya Hawkins, Jordan Ensey, Alyssa Ensey, Ayden Ensey, Haven Ensey, Emma Beasley and Allie Beasley. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Brother Jackie Stamper will also be held at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Young, Timmy Burton, Greg Burton, Scott Burton, J.D. Griffett, Marcus Hawkins, Lonnie Cooper, Zachary Hooten, Ocie Parido, Christian Parido and Jeremie Beasley. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
