Edward Wayne Marcum, age 81, husband of Irvaleen Marcum of Clay City, Kentucky passed away at his residence on March 13, 2020. Born in Estill County, he was the son of the late John Millard and Clara Abney Marcum and a member of Vaughns Mill First Church of God. Ed was a member of the Carpenter's Union and worked as a highway construction and bridge builder and a carpenter prior to becoming a logger and the owner of Marcum Sawmill. He enjoyed coon hunting, farming, working cattle and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse Leon Marcum, Donald Marcum and J. C. Marcum and by three sisters, Alene Russell, Louise Patton and Phyllis Terry. He is survived by his wife, Irvaleen Carrothers Marcum; one son, Brian (Bridget) Marcum of Clay City; two daughters, Dana (Mike) Allen of Stanton and Jill (Doug) Kelbs of Clay City; two sisters, Agnes Daeschlein of Millington, MI and Wanda Crowe of Lexington; five grandchildren: Jason Creech, Alicia (John) Bowman, Hannah (Josh) Brewer, Luke Marcum and Noah Marcum along with three great grandchildren: Jacob Bowman, Grayson Brewer and Adalynn Brewer. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Teddy Linkous will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2020 at Hearne Funeral Home Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Visitation begins at 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ware Cemetery with Chris Hall, Mike Terry, Rick Terry, Josh Brewer, John Bowman, Johnny Marcum and Eric Polk serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Rogers, Steve Abner, Goat Rice, Rodney Barnes, Rowland Marcum, Eck Snowden, Terry Abney, Phillip Shearer, Shelby Abney, Earl Profitt, David and Velma Wilson, Greg Crowe, Keith Branham, Darrell Smith, Scott Smith, Dean Southworth, Dr. Charles Noss and Jason Creech.
