Estille King

Estille Ann Hughes King, age 72, wife of Bedford King, of Stanton, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Clark Regional Medical Center.  Born in Bowen, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Lloyd F. and Joyce Flawn Hughes and a member of Bowen First Church of God and Women's Missionary Circle.  Estille King was a previous teacher with Training His Treasures and a former bus driver and bus monitor with the Powell County Board of Education.  She served many years as an election officer in the Slade and Bowen precincts and was well thought of for her kindness and the donation of pies and cakes to several organizations and churches in Powell County. She served on the board of directors and was treasurer of the Appalachian Music Barn in Clay City, Kentucky.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one son, Lyle Vance King; two brothers, Floyd Dean Hughes and Danny Edward Hughes and one sister, Dolly Jean Hughes.  Estille is survived by her husband, Bedford King; one son, Shawn Wade (Valerie) King of Russellville; a daughter, Cassie King of Stanton; four grandchildren:  Danielle Crabtree, Cody Pace, Austin King and Taylor King; four great grandchildren, Kylee Crabtree, Kyndall Cecil, Motley Eastman and Kynnedy Cecil; four brothers:  Alton (Kathy) Hughes of Stanton, Teddy (Lisa) Hughes of Camargo, Sammy (Pam) Hughes of Olive Hill and Tyler (Hyla) Hughes of Clay City and four sisters:  Hattie (James) Jones of Stanton, Kathy Couch of Beattyville, Rosa (Jerry) Elliott, Finley, OH and Betty Caskey of Mt. Sterling.  Private funeral services officiated by Bro. Martin Hughes will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hearne Funeral Home.  Public visitation begins at 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home until 9:00 P.M..  Burial will be in the Bedford King Cemetery with Cody Pace, Austin King, Shawn King, J. L. Bowen, Marty Cecil, Chuck Cecil and Allen Mullin serving as pallbearers.  Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
