Carson Euell Sumner, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born in Rosslyn, Kentucky, on October 5, 1938, to the late Bryan Sumner and the late Helen Wilson Sumner. Euell was a lifelong farmer who raised corn, tobacco, and livestock. He loved to hunt and fish. Euell loved Chevrolet cars. He had a high level of integrity and was a lifelong learner. Euell served in the United States Army and was proud to have served his country. He is survived by his wife, Margie Sumner of Stanton; one daughter, Angela (Glenn) Chapman of Stanton; one grandchild, Taylor Chapman (Zachary) Blevins; and three great-grandchildren: Harper Kate Blevins, Adalynn Marie Blevins, and Porter Reece Blevins. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Wesley Miller will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 3:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Stanton Cemetery with Glenn Chapman, Zachary Blevins, Mike Reed, Gary Napier, Dwayne Hatton and Randall Young serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Carol Jean and Dewey Hollon, George and Vickie Welicki, Vickie Reed, Karen and Tim Hatton, Kevin and Debbie Phelps, Gary Abner, Michelle Young, Josh and Heather Abney, Samantha and Jace Miller, Ruby Napier, James Ed Dennis, and Monica and Jimmy Miller. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
