Geneva Campbell, age 83, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 14, 2025, at her home in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was born on December 4, 1941, to the late William Patton Slemp and the late Martha Martin Slemp. Geneva was a cherished member of Camargo Church of God, where the vibrant spirit of worship filled her heart with joy each Sunday. She thrived in the warmth of fellowship, finding solace and community among her Christian brothers and sisters. Eager to give back, Geneva dedicated her time to volunteering at the church’s food pantry, where she shared not just food but also kindness and compassion with those in need. A woman of many talents, Geneva poured her creativity into sewing and quilting, creating beautiful handmade treasures that were often gifted to loved ones. Her kitchen was always bustling with activity, as she delighted in preparing hearty meals that brought family and friends together around the table, filling the room with the comforting aroma of home-cooked food. Throughout her life, Geneva had a remarkable ability to care for others, serving as a dedicated caregiver who touched the lives of many. Her loving and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact, and she was known for her straightforwardness—always speaking her mind, so there was never any doubt about her thoughts or feelings. With a friendly smile and an open heart, Geneva never met a stranger; she welcomed everyone with warmth and genuine interest. A woman of deep faith, she lived out her beliefs through heartfelt prayers for those around her, offering support and encouragement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Campbell; one son: Charles Eugene Campbell; and three brothers: Homer C. Slemp, Robert Eugene Slemp, and Paul Edward Slemp. Geneva is survived by four sons: Herman Ray Campbell of Mt. Sterling, William Gayle Campbell of Jeffersonville, Gary Lee (Terri) Campbell of Winchester, and Ricky Edward Campbell of Mt. Sterling; one daughter: Rita (Dawson) Howard of Jeffersonville; eleven grandchildren: Marsha Weber, Jamie Campbell, Jolie Scott, Michael Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Halee Cunningham, Christina Schenk, Dana McClanahan, Tara Campbell, Brandon Campbell, and Justin Goodwin; twenty one great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Raymond Townsend will be held at the funeral home immediately following at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Martin and Willoughby Cemetery in Jeffersonville, with Michael Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Justin Goodwin, Cody Campbell, Jeremy McClanahan, and Craig Schenk serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Campbell, James Campbell, Dawson Howard, Jimmy Campbell, Ricky Campbell, Gayle Campbell, Gary Campbell, and Herman Ray Campbell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
