Jimmy Morton

James “Jimmy” Densil Morton, age 71, husband of Karen Knox Morton passed away at his home in Bradenton, Florida, on Friday, February 10, 2023. Born in Winchester, KY on July 28, 1951, he was the son of the late Williard Morton and the late Geraldine Wireman Morton. Jimmy loved his family and was a loyal friend. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being a farmer, growing tobacco and corn and taking care of his cattle.  He was a former Free Mason and worked many years at East KY Power and after retirement worked at B&B Electric. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Morton Townsend and a beloved dog, Savannah. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Amanda (James) Martin and Cassie (Michael) Otis both of Mt. Sterling and Crissy (Dewayne) Goodlett of Harrodsburg; one sister, Vickie Morton Spencer of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren: Kelcee (Clint) Orme, Seth Wright, Kaden Martin, James Wade (Felicia) Allen, Coty Allen, Jailyn Barnes and Jenna Barnes; two great-grandchildren: Haven Allen and Nova Allen and a beloved dog, Maisie. Visitation will be at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 with the funeral service immediately following at 7:00 P.M. Honorary Pallbearers are Linville Knox, the late Larry Lacy, Jeff Knox, Larry Harney, Garner Humphry, Norman Harnes, George Henry, Rick & Doris Proper, all former employees of East KY Power and employees of B&B Electric. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home, Inc. of Stanton.
