Linda Gayle Puckett Scott, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on June 28, 1955, to the late Charlie Puckett and the late Hazel Francis Willoughby Puckett. Linda cherished her family deeply and found immense joy in every moment spent with them, especially her beloved grandbabies. The laughter and warmth during family gatherings filled her heart with happiness, and she relished the opportunity to cook delicious meals and host delightful cookouts, creating lasting memories. Linda’s creative spirit was evident in her passion for quilting, intricate needlework, and completing challenging puzzles that sparked her imagination. She dedicated hours to crafting beautiful projects and nurturing her vibrant flower garden. Linda also enjoyed the thrill of playing cards, with Rook being her favorite, as it brought moments of friendly competition and camaraderie. She embraced life with a full heart, radiating compassion and kindness wherever she went. Linda loved fiercely and devoted herself wholeheartedly to her passions and the people she cared about. Her big heart was a beacon of warmth, drawing everyone close and making them feel cherished. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Elliott “Coach” Scott, and one brother, Larry Arnold Puckett. Linda is survived by three sons: Scotty (Becky) Taulbee of Elizabethtown, Mark (Tina Brown) Taulbee of Denniston, and Akeem Jamaal (Jennifer) Scott of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Keia (Jimmie III) Scott-Newsome of Lexington; two brothers: Charles David Puckett of Mt. Sterling and Gary Wayne Puckett of Jeffersonville; eleven grandchildren: Travis Taulbee, Elizabeth Taulbee, Allison Taulbee, Braelyn Taulbee, Mason Newsome, Charleigh Newsome, Colten Taulbee, Martina Taulbee, Alexandria Francis, Ciera Locke, and Olivia Locke; and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at High Street Christian Church, 401 East High Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, with Scott Taulbee, Mark Taulbee, Akeem Scott, Jimmy Newsome, Bryan Puckett, and Travis Taulbee serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Newsome, Colten Taulbee, Gary Puckett, and Charles Puckett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
