Loretta Marcum

Loretta Faye Marcum, age 73, passed away at her residence in Clay City, KY on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Born in Clay City, KY she was the daughter of the late Shirley and Essie Lee Roberts and she attended Clay City Baptist Church.  Loretta was a former cook for the Powell County Board of Education and a foster parent to several children.  She is survived by her husband, Roland Marcum; son, Keith (Lisa) Ballard of Stanton; two daughters, Sheila (Justin) Slemp of Stanton and Ta'Nia (Matt) Laker of Clay City; brother, Rondle Roberts of Stanton; three grandchildren, Jonathan Slemp, Gabriel Laker and Sage Laker and great grandson, Vincent Slemp.  Funeral services officiated by Bro. John Combs and Bro. Gary Willoughby will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Hearne Funeral Home Inc., 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY.  Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Entombment will be in LaFaye Cemetery with Justin Slemp, Keith Ballard, Richard Lane, Matt Laker, Darren Farmer, Gabriel Laker and Jonathan Slemp serving as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Terry Green and Paul Seimet.  Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
