Mary Ashley

Mary Ashley, age 87, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky. She was born in Slade on April 24, 1937, to the late Austin Faulkner and the late Grace Dale Faulkner. Mary was a member of the Northeast Christian Church and a graduate of Powell County High School class of 1955. She worked as an administrative assistant for 15 years, serving under three Lexington mayors. Mary loved the theater, going to Broadway musicals, traveling, and music. She enjoyed going on cruises and had fond memories of her travels to Europe. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her two brothers: Austin Dale Faulkner and George Ray Faulkner; and one sister, Mildred Jean Terry. She is survived by two sons: Michael (Holly) Ashley and William Dale (Tiffanie) Ashley both of Lexington; three grandchildren: Erica Russell, Morgan Ashley, and David Ashley; and two great-grandchildren: Doug Russell and Viviana Russell. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services officiated by Dr. Richard Landon will also be held at the funeral home at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Stonegate Cemetery with Michael Ashley, David Ashley, William Dale Ashley, Arthur Ashley, Enoch Thomas, and Joseph Jackson serving as active pallbearers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
